Scoliosis is an S-shaped deformation or malposition of the spinal column as seen from the front or back. It can be either congenital or acquired. The cause is a crooked posture of the head, which leads to a delay of the conduction in the nerve tract as a result. This results in one-sided tension of the muscles and ligaments of the spinal column, which leads to deformation.

Scoliosis patients often have problems with herniated discs due to the malposition of the spinal column.

Treatment includes stimulation of the neck musculature via ultrasound. Our clinic uses an ultrasound transducer for this. With the Khan method, shockwave therapy is used instead. Following successful treatment, the head assumes a horizontal position. The delays in the conduction disappear and therefore the tension in the spinal column as well. The spinal column then becomes straight again.
